Obama Campaign Office on Abbot Kinney

Barack Obama’s campaign for US
President now has a donated campaign office up on the second floor at 1410 Abbot
Kinney Blvd. in Venice, just across the street from Abbot’s Habit. The
Beachhead visited them on a busy Friday afternoon while volunteers worked the
phones to contact voters from San Pedro to Venice to Calabassas and spread their
message. They are open from 10 AM to 9 PM, appear confident and upbeat and, of
course, encourage more volunteers to join up.
Every room has numerous hard working people,
beautiful posters, computers and phones, T-shirts and bumper stickers and smiles
for all questions about their candidate. While speaking with one of the
volunteers, the Beachhead learned that just minutes before, the LA Times had
endorsed Obama (and McCain). Everyone was understandably
excited.
Volunteers are already
“hitting the streets” and knocking on doors right here in Venice.
Their campaign office may be contacted at
396-4656.
The Clinton campaign has
a different approach that allows volunteers to work from their computers at
home. Their headquarters are located at 600 South La Fayette, downtown LA,
213-908-0190.
