Can’t say i knew her,
but i sure respected her space. she made it crystal clear, she had boundaries.
she made the space around her, her own, and it shone. queen of her realm, with
headphones on. if you were lucky you saw her turning a twist to her tunes,
snapping her fingers like an ethereal jazzy elegant heroine. she stood tall on
the boardwalk, a tiny fiery spritey white blond tigress in glam platform heels.
she stood for something, for me,
freedom to exist way beyond the paradigm, doing one’s own thing, or the
right to do nothing. Harm to No One--free spirits resting on sacred ground--the
sand, the sidewalk, wherever, it’s a free mother earth. Dangerous? i heard
she lived twenty years on the
street.
Verica, i didn’t even
know your name til after you’d gone. it’s similar to my name, no
wonder you felt like a sister in this strange world, in being out there, in
creating our own armour shining
uniqueness.
Peeps, pray and send Verica
our love. i miss her presence in Venice. her death really freaks me out. i shake
with rage, and vomit with shock at the violence of her passing. i vow to rid the
land of psychokillers somehow.
Diane
Butler painted Verica in gold sparkles and rainbow light.there were a few sweet
shrines and candles burning in her honor. i see Verica meeting her guides,
embracing angels, finally letting someone in when this world utterly
failed.
Verica, we acknowledge the
preciousness of your Life. we realize the need for a safe haven for women, for
all, on this earthome, one only we can create.
