Venetians in the Street

This month’s question from the Beachhead:

Is Venice better off as part of L.A., or would it be better off independent?

Paul Dalfonso:

I think Venice would be better off away from LA. A lot of parts of LA, I don't like the way the city runs them. I'd like it to be it's own entity. That's why I'm here. I don't like the hustle and bustle of what goes on over there in the major part of LA. That's why I like living here.

----------

Vivica Madrid:

I think we'd better off independent, because the area is just so special. It's kind of it's own little community in a way. When you live here, to tell you the truth, I rarely venture out without a good reason, visit a family member or something, but I always stay in the area.

----------

Wendy Miller:

Venice would be much better as city of its own. It's unique. People don't judge you here. Freedom of Speech.

-----------

Zubi Muhammad:

I'd like to keep it independent. I like the idea of keeping Venice a certain way. I feel like if the city is involved, ultimately it will start changing Venice. I don't have any evidence to prove that, it's just my instinct.

------------

Mo Ludlow:

We don’t need to be LA, Venice is better.

----------

Lynn Tumpa:

I think Venice is better off as part of LA. It sounds better, feels better.

----------

Aria Malbezzi:

I think we'd better of independent, because LA isn't doing anything about those motor homes parked in front of my property. I mean, million dollar property and you have people living in motor homes all the time. I don't think it's fair. The city won't do anything because they say it's street access to the beach. But I've got a guy living in front of my house for more than a week, watching our kids. You don't know who's there.
