NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL OPPOSES LINCOLN CENTER
TAKES OTHER ACTIONS AT ITS FEBRUARY 12, 2004 BOARD MEETING

1. GRVNC Votes to Oppose Lincoln Center Project

The Grass Roots Venice Neighborhood Council voted to “Motion to oppose the Lincoln Center project as submitted to the Planning Department and to oppose any exceptions or variances from the Municipal Code or Venice Community Plan or any Zoning changes at this time and to adopt a Community Impact Statement for submission to the Planning Department, Council District 11 and the Mayor’s office.

2. GRVNC Supports St. Joseph’s Center Project

Motion to support the St. Joseph’s Center including endorsing the Zoning Administrator’s Supplemental Staff Report and requesting that St. Joseph’s consider architectural breaks on the east side of the building.

3. GRVNC Approves Plan for Town Hall Meeting, Feb. 26, and Related Expenditures

Motion to authorize the expenditure of up to $4350 to carry out the proposal presented which can be found at the following link (www.grvnc.org) and to delegate execution of the plan to the Outreach Committee.

4. In other actions, the Board: a) approved up to $500 for the printing of the Envision Venice Report; b) confirmed the nomination of Tom O’Meara as Elections Committee Chair.

The next Board meeting will be held at the Old Venice City Hall (Beyond Baroque), 681 Venice Blvd. at 7PM, Thursday, Feb. 19.
